Sony had it even been hinted at, and suppliers from Taiwan confirm it now: The Japanese manufacturer wants the entry-level and middle-class largely give up and focus on high-end smartphones. Thus one expects in Taiwan already significantly revised downward component orders from Sony. However, Sony had set in the high-end market, because sales of the Xperia devices are particularly impressive either in China or in the USA or Europe.

Analysts face so the question is whether Sony can prevail against Apple, Samsung, HTC and Co.. Currently Sony delivers only about 10 million smartphones per quarter. If the Group here no growth, Sony could soon fall out of the ranks of the ten largest smartphone vendor worldwide.
